Player Conduct & Community Standards

Battlebrush Games | Community Policy

At Battlebrush Games, we believe tabletop gaming is about more than winning. It's about creativity, storytelling, shared experiences, and the communities we build around the games we love.

Our gaming environment is intentionally focused on casual, narrative-driven, and immersive tabletop experiences. We encourage creative army building, thematic encounters, unique challenges, and memorable moments that make every game enjoyable, regardless of the outcome.

We welcome players of all experience levels, from complete beginners to seasoned veterans, who share our commitment to a positive and inclusive gaming community.

Our Philosophy: Experience Over Competition

Battlebrush Games is not a tournament-focused or competitive gaming venue. We do not organize competitive tournaments, and our gaming spaces and events are not designed or standardized for tournament-level play.

Instead, we prioritize:

  • Narrative gameplay: Thematic battles, evolving stories, campaigns, and meaningful in-game decisions.
  • Casual enjoyment: Relaxed, friendly games where the experience matters more than the final score.
  • Creativity and immersion: Unique scenarios, imaginative challenges, and opportunities to explore the hobby beyond competitive optimization.
  • Learning and growth: An approachable environment where new players can develop their skills without intimidation or pressure.
  • Community: Building friendships, sharing knowledge, and celebrating the hobby together.

Experienced players and those who enjoy competitive strategies are welcome. However, all guests are expected to respect the casual, narrative-first environment we have intentionally created.

Our philosophy is simple: The experience matters more than the outcome.

Player Expectations

All guests are expected to:

  • Treat fellow players, spectators, and staff with courtesy and respect.
  • Encourage beginners and allow them to learn at their own pace.
  • Approach games with a cooperative spirit, even when playing opposing armies.
  • Respect the intended format, theme, and spirit of organized events and narrative campaigns.
  • Communicate expectations before a game and respect an opponent's experience level.
  • Resolve rules questions and disagreements calmly and constructively.
  • Contribute to an environment where creativity, experimentation, and enjoyment are encouraged.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are not permitted:

  • Aggressive, threatening, hostile, or intimidating conduct.
  • Mocking or belittling players for their skill, army choices, rules knowledge, or mistakes.
  • Pressuring other players to adopt tournament-level strategies, lists, rules interpretations, or playstyles.
  • Excessive rules policing, confrontational disputes, or unsolicited interference in other games.
  • Deliberately exploiting inexperienced players in teaching or casual games.
  • Disrupting narrative events or casual games by insisting on competitive standards that are not part of the event.
  • Bullying, harassment, poor sportsmanship, or conduct that discourages others from participating.

Respect the Spirit of the Game

Our events, campaigns, and gaming experiences may include unconventional scenarios, asymmetric objectives, narrative twists, house rules, or unique challenges designed to encourage creativity and immersion.

These experiences are intentional.

Players are expected to embrace the spirit of the activity rather than insist that every game conform to tournament standards or competitive balance.

Winning is a natural and enjoyable part of gaming. However, winning at the expense of another player's enjoyment is not consistent with our community values.

Enforcement

Battlebrush Games staff reserve the right to address conduct that disrupts the gaming environment or negatively affects other guests.

Depending on the circumstances, corrective action may include a verbal warning, ending a game, requiring a guest to leave, or suspending or revoking gaming privileges.

Serious misconduct may result in immediate removal without prior warning.

Every player deserves to leave Battlebrush Games looking forward to their next visit.
